Working out to nourish not punish your body.

Hey, you are worth so much more than fad diets and punishing workouts.

I’m so glad you’ve landed here, Cat Does Wellness is all about supporting your well-being through movement.

Hi I’m Cat

Holistic Personal Trainer, MSc Sports Science

I am here to support my clients move toward a sustainable and joyful relationship with exercise that is centred on self-compassion!

A little bit about me:

  • I live in Devon with my fiancé

  • Put me in water and I’m at peace

  • My favourite show is New Girl (on repeat)

  • Science nerd but I love crystal.

  • I am a professionally trained dancer

  • Dairy intolerant but will risk it for a croissant

  • I’m a Capricorn with a Cancer moon

  • My favourite phrase is “always with a healthy dose of self-compassion.“

I reached out to Cat to help me reconnect with my body as it is now… without her, I don’t think I would be physically and mentally where I am today.

Over the past ten months, I have struggled with personal illness which has changed my body in so many ways.

I have Cat to thank so much for her hard work and motivation and be the best I can be in this moment.

One of the biggest take aways from working with Cat is that there is as much to unlearn as there is to learn. The process of moving towards freedom in movement and feeling empowered is to strip back to idea that exercise looks a certain way. Being conditioned to feel like if a work out isn’t a certain type/length/intensity often became a barrier to exercise. Now, with Cat’s help, I can take the approach that sometimes it’s enough to take the long way home on a walk. I now try to be more active in general rather than see exercise as a separate component of my day. Because of this I can now also look at my body differently and not measure it by appearance only. Now I can measure it by comfort and ease of movements and not just through movements that challenge me. The unlearning here has really opened my eyes to something much more sustainable.

The Tuning In Podcast

Here to support your diet-culture -free, wellness journey through solo episodes and conversations with experts!

CDW Ethos

To be able to move your body is such an incredible gift and that gets to look different for everyone.

For so long, mainstream fitness has taught us that exercise needs to look a certain way and has provided us with a sort of one-size-fits-all approach to well-being.

This approach has also given us a very narrow idea of what a ‘healthy person’ looks like.

Diet culture is at the root of these beliefs.

Diet culture: the ideology that worships thinness and prioritizes it above mental and physical well-being.

Diet culture has a lot to answer for, from our inner critic to our disordered relationships with food and exercise.

CDW supports people to move away from the noise of diet culture and tune into their own internal wisdom.

*A note of weight loss, because humans are complex and nothing is cut and dry.

Whilst CDW is anti-diet culture a.k.a the ideology that worships thinness and prioritizes it above mental and physical well-being, the philosophy that underpins all of CDW’s work is bodily autonomy. That means that if you have a weight loss goal then that is completely valid and you will be supported in an evidence-based way that also prioritizes your holistic well-being.
